Post Office Notices – SOLD 

1840 (April) Postal Notice “to all postmasters” advising of the imminent despatch of the new postage stamps and stationery envelopes, affixed are Penny Black plate 1a. MD-ND vertical pair, fine and extremely rare. Very few are in private hands. A superb frontispiece for exhibition. And one of the finest known examples, far superior to the last example offered at public auction in 2022.
